Through the generosity of our parishioners, the Cathedral of St. Mary operates a sack lunch program for those in need, and also offers assistance to those in the Cheyenne community who, for whatever reason, have fallen behind in either their rent or utilities. We also provide financial assistance to other local charities to help people in Cheyenne, such as the Comea Shelter and Life Choice Pregnancy Center. The Cathedral also has volunteers involved with other community organizations such as; Right to Life of Laramie County, St. Joseph's Food Pantry, NEEDS, the Welcome Mat, and more!
Pastoral Care Health Ministry consists of two specialized areas- Pastoral communion ministry and parish nurse ministry. Pastoral care communion volunteers and parish nurses bring their own special gifts of faith and caring to each person they visit in the home, hospital, nursing home and retirement center. The church based parish nurse serves the parishioners as a heatlh educator and counselor for disease prevention, understanding of medical or surgical conditions, as a referral agent for health care, priests, doctors, community resources, or as an advocate for those in need. The pastoral care communion volunteers and parish nurses provide emotional, physical and spiritual support to members of the praish in a safe caring environment.

Encounter Weekend! Refresh your relationship by taking a new look at your marriage, your priorities and lifestyle. Learn simple, effective communication techniques. Enhance the love that you share. The weekend is designed to help married couples communicate more intimately with one another in order to deepen and enrich their relationship. The weekend is free from everyday routines, distractions and tensions. An atmosphere is created where the couple can concentrate exclusively on one another in a private and confidential environment.
A series of presentations that touch on many aspects of marriage is given by three couples and a Catholic priest. After each presentation, the couple has time in the privacy of their own room for personal sharing using the communication techniques learned during the weekend. There are "no group discussions". The weekend starts at 8:00 p.m. Friday and runs until 4:00 p.m. Sunday. All faith expressions are welcome!
