ld be nice to share with you the many facets of our music ministry team at St. Mary’s with pictures.
As we strive to include more variety in our Eucharistic liturgies, and to encourage more active participation of the assembly, we have expanded our ministry from a single cantor and organist, to a small group at 5:15 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 Noon on Sunday.
Karen Stolz, leads the assembly in the psalm response from the ambo as pictured here.
Mike Heckman provides guitar accompaniment to the 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 Noon liturgies as pictured here.
Frank Szott displays his versatility as both organist and accompanist, playing for 9:00, 10:30 and 12:00 Noon Masses each Sunday.
Matt Treffen, as shown here, has been involved in music ministry for over 30 years.
The sacraments are celebrated on a regular basis, and these celebrations include beautiful music too!
Georgia George, Ellen Lewis-Olsen and Carol Ann Strader provide music for the funeral of Joanne Bogus this past week.
We as musicians have a place in our heart for Joanne who only until this year when she became too ill to continue, provided this Cathedral and this city with musical gifts and a great personality!
Patti Whetstone, David Ruiz, Kim Maes, Ellen Lewis-Olsen and Katherine Castaneda (not pictured) provided beautiful music for both Religious Education and St. Mary’s School’s First Holy Communion celebrations.
