Grace is freely given as a gift from God. Sometimes, we may feel we have exhausted all possibilities of bringing others to that grace, or may find it difficult to break habits that we have been trying to get rid of for a lifetime. This season of Lent is a time of metanoia, changing our lives around and helping others change. We have this Sunday, the gospel of the Prodigal son and the man born blind. Both of these gospels are good examples of how God can work in our lives.
The alternate words to the first verse of Amazing Grace is quoted as stating, “Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved and set me free! I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now, I see.” We are freed by the grace of God to change over our lives to him. Indeed the prodigal son was lost and found and the blind man was able to see. There is hope, because of the grace the Lord provides. Thanks be to God!
