Blessed are They Who Dwell in the House of the Lord
Psalm 84:5 states, “Blessed are They Who Dwell in Your House, for ever singing your praise”. We will hear this message proclaimed by the cantor at communion time at most Masses this weekend in a version written by Michael Joncas. This week, I am attending the National Pastoral Musician’s Conference, and I am writing this in Kansas City, Missouri. I am sure that fellow musicians who minister to God’s people weekly and even daily will agree with me that to be forever singing the praises of God is are absolute hope. We dwell in the house of the Lord when we gather at Eucharist each Sunday, even daily! God makes a dwelling in our hearts when we receive Him in holy communion. The thought of this should fill our hearts with a great sense of peace. Let us radiate this peace with all we meet this week!
