“Stay awake and be ready! For you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”
What do you do to “light your lamps” in preparation for the coming of the Lord?
One thing that I do is examine my conscience each day, and ponder what is it in my life that is separating me from God? There are definitely some areas where I struggle, as we all do. Attendance at daily Mass keeps me on the right track. Another area, I keep in mind is what am I doing for others in leading others to God? Do I seek the aide of others in leading me to God? The third verse of the hymn, “The Servant Song” by Richard Gillard says, “I will hold the Christ-light for you In the night-time of your fear; I will hold my hand out to you, Speak the peace you long to hear,” reinforces the attitude of helping others to prepare for eternity as well as ourselves. Here is the music for this weekend.
