It’s Gaudete Sunday.  How are you balancing the material demands of secular consumerism with Paul’s call to “Have no anxiety at all”? Are there areas of your day when you can focus on putting “everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,” in a request to God?

For the Stolz family, we have been making it a priority to pray at dinner time around the Advent candle to sing a short hymn,   be totally silent for a minute or two to be present to each other and to God, and then we pray for the needs of our world,  and end with a prayer of thanksgiving.  It has centered our time during this period of waiting.  This call to action is our response to the Gospel message.
