February has always been my least favorite month. Maybe it is because I am going through withdrawl after the Super Bowl with no NFL games. This is probably a good thing. Maybe it is because the dark, dreary days seem to drag on. I am not sure. One thing, I know for sure is life is worth living, even in this dark month of 28 days, sometimes 29.
The church has declared this month “The month of the Family”. I am grateful for Karen and my daughter Angela. I am grateful to have both sets of parents. I am grateful to spend time with them and share with them so many meals and celebration in the warmth of our houses.
The parishoners of the Cathedral of St. Mary and those associated with St. Mary’s School are also an extension of my family including those of you that are a part of our music ministry. It reminds us that as Church we all share in same Bread and the same Cup- that we are all His adopted sons and daughters. We are there for each other in pain and suffering and in those joyful times.
Let us savor every opportunity we are given and not regret the present now.
