This weekend, we will hear the cantor proclaim the psalm and we will respond, “Here I am, Lord, I come to do your will”.
How do we know we are doing God’s will? If we take care of one another in a spirit of service, if we listen to him and pray daily, if we recognize the existence of sin in our lives and are doing our part to repent often if not daily and believe in the Gospel. Will our words be words of peace or comfort, or will they be words of anger or hate? Will we do more listening than speaking? Will we extend our hands to our neighbor with a warm hand-shake or embrace? Will we remember to be thankful and pray for each other? If we have a song in our heart, we can temper any storms that are raging in our souls.
In this Christian Unity week, let us do the will of God by loving one another as God has loved us! In so doing, we will love God more deeply.
