Te Deum Final Reflection Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, for we have hoped in Thee. O Lord, in Thee I have put my trust; let me never be put to shame.
Many in our world today lack hope. In their lack of hope, they are unable to connect with a merciful God who loves them. It was this trust that the blind man in John’s gospel, from Cycle A on this Fourth Sunday of Lent, came to know God. Jesus directs Nicodemus to the light also this weekend in Cycle B gospel reading from John. Jesus takes the initiative to have a conversation with Nicodemus. Through this conversation, Nicodemus is drawn close to the light. We see the affect Jesus had on him as Nicodemus will later assure a proper burial for Jesus as a sign of respect. As we sing “Open My Eyes” by Mannibusan this weekend, let us put our trust in His care.
