3RD Station Jesus Falls the First Time At this time of year, I am always excited getting ready for Easter. Taking more quiet time and praying through the days of Lent with daily reflections, devotions and being involved in the music ministry are all acts of being present with Him. “To You, O Lord” is a hymn that reminds us to “lift” up prayers to our Lord. May we trust in Jesus and know that he hears our prayers, every prayer. He loves us so much and wants us to be close to Him, even in our weaknesses and messed up lives. Christ’s passion and suffering allows us to unite closer to Him and we get to participate in the saving work of Jesus!! (CCC1521) Krista Rader-cantor
Reflection on the Fourth Station: Jesus meets His Mother, and the song “Servant Song” by Donna Marie McGargill.
The Fourth Station of the Cross, also called the Way of the Cross, asks us to reflect as Jesus, on His Way to be crucified, meets His Mother. By Mary’s accompanying Jesus on His Way, Mary is saying “yes” to God’s will, echoing her fiat at the Annunciation. Jesus’ Mother Mary, who responded to the angel Gabriel’s message from God that His will was that she be the Mother of Jesus, gave her first fiat, her first “yes”, saying “Let it be done to me.” In “Servant Song”, we hear the simply beautiful words: “Let it be done to me” “Jesus, Jesus, You are the Way.” May this be our prayer, too.
