The response to Psalm 145 this Sunday is: “The hand of the Lord, feeds us, he answers all our needs”. For the past two months pilgrims from four different regions of our country traveled thousands of miles by foot, and through other means of transportation, walking with our Lord and converging on Indianapolis. Indeed, the hand of the Lord was with them as our Eucharistic Lord traveled through major cities of America, rural communities, to prisons and assisted living centers to name a few. Our Lord journeys with all of us for all time. Imagine, the Lord of the universe feeds us and makes us whole. We are healed of our afflictions. He hears our cries and concerns for our brothers and sisters. The Lord will work through us, in attending to our needs and the needs of others. This is what it means to be Church, to be bread for one another. It is our baptismal call to be missionary disciples.
In the coming months, the synod on synodality will come to a conclusion. May the Spirit lead those who will gather. May the Spirit, lead us, too, to listen to one another with genuine concern. With the Spirit’s lead, we will not fail.
