Psalm 23 is used three times this year at liturgy. We used it on the 4th Sunday of Lent. We use it this Sunday on the 4th Sunday of Easter, and we will use it on the last Sunday of the church year on the feast of “Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe”.
At most Masses, we will sing an arrangement of this psalm by Scot Crandal.
The second stanza begins, “He guides me in right paths for his name’s sake”. How do we know if we are on the right path? Indeed, Jesus describes the path as “narrow” for those who seek the kingdom. I suppose we know we are on the right path if we are living the beatitudes and not lose hope. There is never a need to fear, because God is ever near. Here is the music. https://bit.ly/41GO36c
