Each week for the remainder of the Fall season, I will have fellow music ministers write a reflection on a scripture passage from the upcoming week’s readings and having them ask a question to ponder. Feel free to interact at this sight in answering the question posed. This week’s reflection was written by Linda Koons.
Mark 9:45 “ And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life crippled than with two feet to be thrown into Gehenna.”
The “foot” is the way I set myself on a path. What path am I walking? Have I lost my way being distracted by the noise around me? Am I asking God to lead me on His path for me? Jesus, help me to be still and listen for your direction for my path. Holy Spirit, lead me.
“Meditation” by Grayson Warren Brown will be sung as a Taize. In this French form of prayer, the words of this refrain are repeated over and over allowing us to enter more deeply into prayer and reflection.
The words, “Jesus, Jesus, precious Savior, heal us, hold us, help us find rest.
Here is the music to be sung at the majority of Masses this weekend.
