It is not often that the solemn feast of the Assumption falls on a Sunday, but this year it does. Our Lady of the Assumption is patroness of our diocese and our parish, and so our celebration this Sunday is with all the bells and whistles that go along with it. In the gospel reading for this day, John the Baptist leaps for joy when he senses the nearness of Jesus in the Virgin Mary’s womb. This is expressed in the hymn Luke 1: My Soul Rejoices by Owen Alstott. Listening to this music may make one ponder, “Where do I experience the greatest joy in my journey of discipleship?”. I think the most joy is experienced when making others happy. I try to do this each time I sing. Where do experience this type of joy? The Parish youth choir along with some of our adult choir join forces in singing, “Ave Maria” by Norbet. https://dioceseofcheyenne.sharefile.com/d-s00d7a157b1ae47349c765e79da518397
