We Adore You, O Christ and we bless you, because by your  Cross, you have redeemed the world.
These are the words to the gospel acclamation, the cantor will proclaim this weekend on this solemn feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.  
St. Andrew of Crete writes in his discourse:
“We are celebrating the feast of the cross which drove away darkness and brought in the light.  As we keep this feast, we are lifted up with the crucified Christ, leaving behind us earth and sin so that we may gain the things above.”
As we gaze our eyes on the cross this weekend, let us never forget the victory Christ has won for us.   Our hope is in no other but Jesus, the Christ.  Let us cling to the Cross to bring us joy!
