Entrance Antiphon: cf. Psalm 17 (16): 6, 8 To you I call; for you will surely heed me, O God; turn your ear to me; hear my words. Guard me as the apple of your eye; in the shadow of your wings protect me.
The above antiphon is a beautiful prayer of trust. It contains a recognition in our dependency on God and our need to surrender. Let us pray for the protection of the unborn, protection from hunger, disease and illness, protection from natural disasters, storms, forest fires, for our country and our world. The hymn, “Shelter Me, O God” by Bob Hurd will be sung this weekend and expresses this attitude toward prayer.
We offer all praise to a God who loves us. Here is the adult choir singing this round of a traditional Latin hymn, “Jubilate Deo”. We recorded it in our Cathedral Wednesday night with face coverings and socially distant from each other.
