If you have a chance this week, read John 6 in its entirety and spend some time reflecting on the text. For four more weeks, the Bread of Life discourse will be explored. The music presented at communion time will reinforce this very important chapter which is the source and summit of everything we are, and everything we shall become. Have you ever thought of what we celebrate at Mass, not only a sacrifice, but a meal? There are many in our community who are hungry and poor. They know what it is like to have hunger pains. Do we hunger for the Eucharist in this way? Or do we hunger for material things more? Jesus give us Himself without cost. When we come forth to receive the Eucharist this weekend, let our voices express our love for the Eucharist and may we hunger for the Eucharist to fill us up on all that is good and all that is everlasting!
