The Gospel Acclamation for this Sunday from Colossians 3:15 a, 16a states,
Let the peace of Christ control your hearts; let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.
The world needs true and lasting peace. Our forefathers had a vision of peace when America was born. We can extend peace to others more deeply, when we first allow Christ to control our hearts. When we receive the Eucharist, Christ takes over our hearts if we stay quiet and still even if it for a brief moment or two. As the communion processional comes to a conclusion, enter into these silence moments. It is at these quiet moments, that the word of God can speak to us. If we keep a song in our heart, we can share our joy with all we meet and be at peace with ourselves and others. Indeed, through such action, we can bring hope to all!
