Our psalm response for the 3
rd Sunday of Easter is, “Lord, you will show us the path of life”. These words are very meaningful in these uncertain times. It is worth reflecting on Psalm 16.
The first stanza recognizes that the Lord is God. From Matthew’s gospel, in the garden, Jesus acknowledged the Father and prayed that “this cup will pass away from me, yet not as I will, but by your will be done”. We too, pray that we will accept the cup that we have been given.
The second and third stanza are pleas of trust in the Lord who will relieve all anxiety. The fourth stanza expresses the joy to be experienced when the presence of the Lord is felt.
