God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, and entrusting to us the message of salvation 2 Corinthians 5:19
What does salvation mean to you? At least for me, it means total and complete union with God for all eternity. It means everlasting life and uniting once again with those who shaped my life. What about those that were not easy to love, or we had some tense moments? Christ can bond even those relationships. If Christ can be reconciled with the whole human race, so can I. Christ can bind together whatever we have not repaired by our human condition. We, in fact, unite our prayers with the tax collector in today’s gospel, “O God, be merciful to me a sinner.” This is the message we carry in the month of November as we commemorate the saints and the souls of all the faithful departed, and as the season of Ordinary Time concludes.
