Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word."
~Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213

The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." "The other sacraments , and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch."
~Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1324
Holy Communion augments our union with Christ. The principal fruit of receiving the Lord Eucharist in Holy Communion is an intimate union with Christ Jesus. Indeed, the said: "He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him." Life in Christ has its foundation in the Eucharistic banquet: "As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me."
~Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1391\
The Sacrament of First Communion is typically received in the 2nd grade after the reception of the Sacrament of Penance. For more information please contact Karen at the parish office.
Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deed.
~Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1316
The Sacrament of Confirmation is currently celebrated in the fall of the 8th grade school year. For more information please visit our Faith Formation page or contact Karen at the parish office.
Adults in need of The Sacrament of Confirmation attend a six week preparation formation that currently takes places immediately after Easter. For more information please contact Maria at the parish office.
Christ instituted the sacrament of Penance for all sinful members of his Church: above all for those who, since Baptism, have fallen into grave sin, and have thus lost their baptismal grace and wounded ecclesial communion. It is to them that the sacrament of Penance offers a new possibility to convert and to recover the grace of justification. The Father of the Church present this sacrament as "the second plank (of salvation) after the shipwreck which is the loss of grace."
~Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1446
The Lord Jesus Christ, physician of our souls and bodies, who forgave the sins of the paralytic and restored him to bodily health, has willed that his Church continue, in the power of the Holy Spirit, his work of healing and salvation, even among her own members. This is the purpose of the two sacraments of healing: Penance and Anointing of the Sick.
~Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1421
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is typically received in the 2nd grade prior to the Sacrament of First Communion. For more information please contact Karen at the parish office.
"By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them. And indeed she escorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ.
~Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1499
Those in need of the Sacrament of Anointing should contact the parish office.
"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament."
~Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1601
Those desiring to be married should contact Maria at the parish office nine months prior to the proposed wedding date.
The whole Church is a priestly people. Through Baptism all the faithful share in the priesthood of Christ. This parish is called the 'common priesthood of the faithful." Based on this common and ordered to its service, there exists another participation in the mission of Christ: the ministry conferred by the sacrament of Holy Orders, where the task is to serve in the name and in the person of Christ the Head in the midst of the community.
